Moreton Bay Dolphin Research Expeditions
Join us for an authentic and unique experience on our Moreton Bay Dolphin Research Expeditions as an eco-volunteer. Join the research team for our 2024 season. As an Eco-volunteer you’ll not only be a financial supporter of this critical research project, but also an active contributor as a field team member during our Expeditions. This is a very unique opportunity!!
The Moreton Bay Dolphin Research Expeditions offer a once in a lifetime experience to learn, participate and actively contribute to advancing the knowledge of coastal dolphins and aiding in their protection and conservation.
During your Dolphin Research Expedition experience, you will have the opportunity to be part of the dolphin research team, work directly with the experts and take part in vessel-based surveys. During surveys, you’ll have the opportunity to assist in the collection of behavioural data, photographic identification of individuals and sound recordings of the dolphins communication.
Our Moreton Bay Dolphin Research Expeditions are based at the University of Queensland’s Moreton Bay Research Station on North Stradbroke Island, Queensland, Australia. Your financial contribution covers your accommodation, meals and transport to the Moreton Bay Research Station and also directly contributes to helping us cover the research costs including vessel hire, fuel and insurance.
Expedition Dates & Pricing
We are a charity and we have kept the prices as low as possible. The eco-volunteer program is unique and provides an authentic, participatory experience for those that have a passion for the ocean, to learn and actively contribute in research that will aid in expanding the knowledge and conservation of coastal dolphin species.
