Young Dolphin Heroes Help Raise Much Needed Funds

Artwork created by the Year 1 Sathya Sai Primary School class for their fundraising cards.

Sathya Sai Primary School Year 1 class from Murwillumbah has been getting creative to raise funds for Dolphin Research Australia. The Sathya Sai Primary School have been long-term supporters and it has been very humbling to see the children finding new ways to raise funds during these difficult Covid times.

The Year 1 class have sent through this inspiring story to share with you:

“Year 1 decided they would like to make something that they could give to families when they donated to Dolphin Research Australia. They decided they would make cards with an ocean theme. We spent weeks making enough cards and each one was filled with love. They showed the values of concentration, creativity and determination.

Our next hurdle came when we were ready to collect donations. We were unable to have a stall which limited our ability to share with the school community. We decided that we would start with our year 1 class and then move on to the rest of the school.

I took photos of each card and posted them on Seesaw our sharing network. The class decided that we would give out our cards for a gold coin donation, but of course any donation was appreciated. We also did a deal of 5 for $5.

All our families got so involved and we had generous donations. We were able to raise $131.60.

Thank you Dolphin Research Australia for all you do to support our sponsored Dolphin Scooter and all the animals and creatures in our ecosystem.

With love and appreciation
